SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Skyline Implement, which lists its address as 2012 Skyline Dr, Sheridan, Wyo. 8280, is a scam. According to a buyer's account, the buyer wired $21,500 for a 2015 Bobcat E55 and never received the machine.

The report matters because the listing showed a mid-2010s excavator with a modest hours reading and a single all-in price, and the buyer paid the full asking amount before any machine exchange or inspection took place.

The listing

The listing on skyline-implement.com offered a 2015 Bobcat E55 with 4,191 engine hours and an asking price of $21,500. The page presented the model year, the make and the hours alongside the single price the seller wanted for the unit.

For a buyer shopping for a compact excavator, the combination of a 2015 model, the posted hours figure and the flat $21,500 asking price made the entry stand out against comparable listings. That apparent value is why the machine drew attention from a prospective purchaser.

How the sale unfolded

According to the buyer's account, the buyer found the listing while looking online for a machine of that size and specification. The buyer compared several options and then used the website’s contact route to pursue the Skyline Implement offer for the 2015 Bobcat E55 at the posted price.

The buyer said they agreed to buy the machine at the $21,500 asking price and arranged payment. The buyer sent $21,500 by bank wire as the payment for the excavator. After the wire was completed, the buyer waited for delivery of the Bobcat and for any documentation related to ownership and transport.

Days passed without delivery of the machine. The buyer followed up through the same online contact channel but ultimately did not receive the excavator. According to the buyer's account, the transaction ended with the buyer having sent $21,500 by wire and no machine delivered.

What the website shows

The website identifies itself as Skyline Implement and publishes a Sheridan address, 2012 Skyline Dr, and a phone number, +1 307 429 3175. The Bobcat listing appears as a dedicated vehicle page at the path /vehicle/2015-bobcat-e55/ on the skyline-implement.com domain.

The domain was registered Sept. 19, 2026, through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com and the registrant information is hidden behind a privacy service. The site serves pages over HTTPS and returns standard responses for its homepage, but it does not publish any dealer licensing information or Department of Transportation credentials.

How these schemes work

Law enforcement guidance and consumer protection agencies warn that some fraudulent listings target buyers by presenting desirable machines with straightforward asking prices and contact details that look plausible. Scammers often create fresh domains just before posting a listing, mask ownership with privacy services and present limited verifiable business credentials so a machine cannot be inspected in person.

Skyline Implement's domain record shows it was created on Sept. 19, 2026, just 11 days before this report, and the published registrant data is private. In this case a buyer who paid the full asking price by wire reports the machine was never delivered, which matches common risk signals cited by experts.

If you sent money

Contact your bank immediately and ask whether a wire recall is possible. Save every invoice, message, receipt and any record of the transaction.

Report the incident to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov and to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov, and include the listing link and the domain name. Keep copies of your reports and the listing page for any follow-up you may need to pursue with law enforcement or financial institutions.
